Eighteen years in before the top job
In 2000, when then-Chairman and CEO Takao Saito assumed the additional title of President following George Muller's departure, Thomas J. Doll — then an 18-year SOA veteran and former SVP/CFO — was promoted to Executive Vice President alongside Fred D. Adcock (a 12-year veteran, former SVP of Sales) to jointly support Saito.

Doll was named Executive Vice President and COO in 2009, President in 2013, and CEO in 2018 — the same year Tomomi Nakamura moved from SOA's chairmanship to the parent-company presidency of Subaru Corporation.
Twelve consecutive years of records
Doll is credited with "12 consecutive years of sales records from 2008 to 2019." He stepped down in 2023, succeeded by Tadashi "Tady" Yoshida (chairman and CEO) and Jeffrey A. Walters (president and COO), effective 1 April 2023.
