About SubaruFacts

A reference for Subaru owners, buyers and enthusiasts, covering every era and every market the cars were sold in.

Who runs it

SubaruFacts is run by Bill Pierce, who is responsible for what it publishes and for the corrections it accepts. Messages sent through the contact form go to his private inbox on this site.

What it covers

The whole Subaru line: the 360 and the kei cars, Leone, Legacy and Outback, Impreza, WRX and STI, Forester, Crosstrek, Ascent, the BRZ and Solterra built with Toyota, and the cars only Japan or other markets got. Every claim records which market it applies to, so a Japanese specification is never presented as the US one.

Where the figures come from

Every figure traces to an entry in the public source register. The register today includes Subaru press releases, period announcements and regulatory filings, government regulations, factory technical documents, automotive journalism, enthusiast sites and forums, and Wikipedia articles. Encyclopedia articles are treated as a route to earlier evidence rather than the evidence itself.

When sources disagree, each account stays on the page with its scope instead of being averaged into one number. The methodology explains how claims and sources are weighed, and coverage that is still thin is listed in the archive guide.

How the site is paid for

Some links on SubaruFacts are affiliate links, and the site may earn a commission when a reader buys through one. Commission does not decide what is published or recommended. The details are on the advertising and affiliate links page.

Independence

SubaruFacts is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Subaru Corporation or Subaru of America, Inc. Subaru and related marks belong to their owners and are used here only to identify the cars. It is one of the car reference sites Bill Pierce runs under the shared CarFacts framework, and each one keeps its own sources and editorial decisions.
