The fifth generation ran the EJ253 2.5L and EZ36 3.6L H6 in North America, introducing Subaru's Lineartronic CVT to the Legacy line. JDM models continued with EJ20 turbo power and, in Europe, the EE20 turbodiesel. The research corpus does not give per-engine output figures for this specific generation.
