Starting with model year 2015, 'WRX' and 'WRX STI' stopped being sold as 'Impreza WRX' in any market and became a standalone model line on its own VA chassis, while the ordinary non-turbo Impreza continued on the GJ (hatchback) and GP (wagon-shaped hatchback/crossover-adjacent) codes covered here. Sources disagree on whether to describe the WRX's chassis lineage as continuous with the Impreza's or as branching into its own line at this point — both framings are preserved rather than resolved in the research corpus.
